Leadership: Long story short
Jay Bryant-Wimp transitioned from being a pharmacist and pharmacy co-owner to writing songs full-time and launching a record label. Jay spends half the year in Nashville navigating the world of music.
The why: In 2020, Jay took an aptitude assessment from the Johnson O’Connor Foundation (https://www.jocrf.org) and realized that he had been hard-wired to do something in music. He connected with a few friends in Nashville, started writing songs with them, and quickly gravitated towards making connections and understanding the business aspects of the music industry.
Jay has since turned a songwriting addiction into a business plan that includes artist management/development/record label, and enjoys every minute of discovering multiple aspects of the music industry.
Jay and Stacy, his wife of over 30 years, when not in Nashville, hang out in Columbia, Missouri, where they are active in their church and community. They have three children, Adrik, Emily, and Evan, who have all caught the entrepreneurial spirit. Jay enjoys playing tennis, hanging out with family, including his music-loving grandchildren, and writing song lyrics in his free time.

We’ve had a passion for music since we were born. So do you, that’s how we connected. We were hardwired for this! We hear it, write it, play it, and live it!
We realize that to promote music and serve the music community, we, the Real & Hook team, need to have a presence. Not an overbearing presence, but in a side-by-side partnership.
That means that we strive to create an environment where we can grow as humans and be the most authentic version of ourselves. We do this by listening, assessing, learning, and coaching. It’s your journey, we are here for it all. We have seen a lot over the years and are always on-call & available when you need us. If we are being real, we might need your help too.
The creation of music can be a very deep, rewarding, and personal process. But like with all forms of art, it needs to be accessible for others to appreciate the beauty! Why not turn it up?
